Early Elementary
Early elementary is all about learning to read and ACA employs phonics as the foundation of our reading instruction in these grades. Abeka is a Christian curriculum with a strong phonics approach that provides students with the tools to become lifelong readers. Our youngest learners use BJU Press for a comprehensive foundation in the areas of math, science, and social studies.
Upper Elementary
When our students reach upper elementary, the focus shifts to reading to learn. BJU Press is used across all subject areas from 3rd grade and up. BJU Press is developed from a Christian perspective, emphasizing a Biblical worldview. In addition to its Christian perspective, BJU Press curriculum is widely recognized for its high quality and rigor. This approach ensures our students leave elementary school with a solid foundation and ready for everything that middle school brings.
Specials
We believe that a great education focuses on more than just core academic areas. All elementary students at ACA enjoy PE every day, as well as music and art each week. Our goal is to cultivate well-rounded learners and give our students the opportunity explore their interests in the classroom, through physical activity, and in the area of fine arts.
